History of the museum

The Museum of Folk Musical Instruments named after A. Ihlasa was created in 1981. Today, it houses a significant collection of folk instruments, both Kazakh and belonging to various peoples of the world.
The museum has 9 exhibition halls where visitors will be able to see unique musical instruments - gelboise, adyrna, sherter, as well as numerous varieties of widely used ones such as dombra, kobyz, sybyzgy, etc.
