History of the museum

The Almaty Museum is a major cultural center representing the entire range of historical and cultural heritage of the Zhetysu region. The museum's exposition consists of 11 rooms that reflect the history of Almaty from ancient times to the present. The museum's collections contain ancient and modern exhibits. Among them are works of fine art, unique collections of Kazakh ethnography, collections of household items from different eras and cultures, photos and documents.
